Economic Immigration
Express Entry
Designed for individuals with at least one year of skilled Canadian work experience. This pathway is ideal for international graduates and temporary workers who have already integrated into the Canadian labour market.
For skilled workers outside or inside Canada with strong education, foreign or Canadian work experience, and language proficiency. Candidates are selected based on age, education, work history, and adaptability factors.
For skilled trades professionals with recent work experience in an eligible trade. Applicants must meet trade-specific requirements and have a valid job offer or a certificate of qualification from a Canadian authority..
Provincial Nominee Programs
Base nominations are permanent residency pathways managed directly by the provinces. These streams are not connected to Express Entry. Applicants apply to the province first, receive a nomination, and then submit a paper-based or online PR application to IRCC. For example- OINP employer job offer streams, Nova scotia critical construction porgram etc..
Enhanced nominations are linked to Express Entry. Provinces select candidates from the federal Express Entry pool and issue a nomination that adds 600 points to the CRS score, almost guaranteeing an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for PR. For example- OINP Human capital stream, OINP french speaking skilled worker stream.
Canada offers several Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) that allow provinces and territories to nominate individuals for permanent residence based on their specific economic needs. Each province has its own criteria and streams targeting students, business people, skilled workers, and semi-skilled workers. Some popular PNPs include:
- Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP): Focuses on skilled workers, graduates, and business immigrants.
- British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP): Targets tech workers, entrepreneurs, and graduates.
- Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP): Offers streams for workers in high-demand occupations.
- Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP): Includes categories for skilled workers, entrepreneurs, and farmers.
- Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP): Prioritizes skilled workers and international graduates.
- Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP): Attracts skilled workers, entrepreneurs, and graduates.

- Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP): Includes streams for workers and business investors.
- Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP): Targets skilled workers and international graduates.
Each program has specific requirements, so a detailed consultaion is required to discuss the eligibility of each PNP program.
