Temporary Residents
A Visitor Visa (Temporary Resident Visa) allows individuals to come to Canada for a temporary stay, such as tourism, visiting family, or short-term business activities. Applicants must show they will leave Canada at the end of their visit, have sufficient financial support, and meet all admissibility requirements set by IRCC.
A Study Permit allows international students to study at a Designated Learning Institution (DLI) in Canada. It authorizes students to live in Canada for the duration of their program and may also permit part-time work during studies. Applicants must show acceptance into a DLI, proof of funds, and a genuine intention to study in Canada temporarily.
LMIA based work permit
Issued when an employer obtains a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) to show no Canadian worker is available for the position.
LMIA-Exempt Work Permits
Issued without an LMIA under special categories defined by IRCC, mainly through international agreements or Canadian interests.
